Information we collect

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message. We use this information to respond, investigate corrections and handle your request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical request information to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times.

Free tools and browser storage

The score calculator, saved team names and practice tracker keep their saved records in your browser on your device. Those records are not sent to our server or stored in a customer database. They are not synchronized between devices.

You can remove these records by clearing this site’s browser storage. Clearing storage, changing browsers or using private browsing can remove your saved work. Download any records you want to keep.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, including pages visited, traffic sources, device and browser information, and general geographic location. Analytics also records interactions such as guide visits, downloads, video links and clicks to Amazon or Sport Scheduler Pro.

Google Analytics loads automatically and can use cookies and pseudonymous browser identifiers. We do not send tool entries, practice notes or email-message contents as custom analytics event data. Google processes information under its own privacy policy.

Videos, product images and external links

Our embedded videos use YouTube’s standard player in privacy-enhanced mode. As a player loads near the visible part of a page, your browser connects to YouTube before you press play. YouTube receives technical request information and applies its own privacy practices.

Product images can load from Amazon’s image servers. Clicking a retailer or partner link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy policy. Affiliate links allow retailers to attribute eligible purchases. See our affiliate disclosure.

How we use and share information

We use information to operate and secure the site, understand which guides and tools are useful, respond to messages and meet legal obligations. We use service providers for hosting, analytics and email. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse or legal claims.

We do not sell email correspondence or tool records to advertisers. Third-party analytics and affiliate services handle information as described above and in their own policies.

Retention and your choices

We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, maintain relevant business records and meet legal obligations. Hosting and analytics records are subject to the settings and retention practices of those services. Browser-saved tool records remain under your control until removed or cleared.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or request deletion by emailing info@backyardcompetitor.com. Depending on where you live, including California, applicable law may provide additional access, deletion, correction or opt-out rights. We handle requests subject to identity verification, applicable exceptions and legal deadlines. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Security and children’s privacy

We use HTTPS and reasonable technical measures to protect the site. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The site is intended for a general audience of players and adult game organizers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
