Using the site

Backyard Competitor provides game guides, equipment information, downloadable resources and free browser-based tools. No account, subscription or payment is required to use these resources.

You are responsible for checking measurements, rules, scores and other information before relying on them. Tournament organizers and governing bodies can use different rules; confirm the rules that apply to your event. Follow equipment manufacturers’ instructions and use appropriate care when playing or building equipment.

Saved records and downloads

Tools can save records in your browser on the device you use. We do not provide account storage, cloud synchronization or recovery of those records. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important information. Browser settings, device changes or cleared storage can remove saved work.

You may use our downloadable practice sheets and tools for your own play, practice and events. A download does not grant permission to resell our templates or republish our articles as your own.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service for an unlawful purpose, infringe another person’s rights, interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access to systems, distribute malicious software or collect personal information without permission.

You retain ownership of information you enter into the tools and are responsible for having permission to use it. Entering information into a browser-based tool does not grant us permission to publish it.

Intellectual property

The Service’s software, original text, designs and graphics belong to Sport Scheduler Pro LLC or their respective licensors. Photographs, product images, trademarks and embedded videos remain subject to their owners’ rights. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for its intended personal or organizational purposes.

You may link to our pages. Reproducing substantial portions of our articles or redistributing our assets requires permission unless allowed by the applicable license or law.

Retailers and other services

We link to independent retailers and services, including Amazon and Sport Scheduler Pro. Purchases, schedules and brackets made on those services are governed by their terms and privacy policies. Backyard Competitor does not process those transactions or control retailer prices, availability, fulfillment or returns.

Some links earn us a commission from qualifying purchases. Our affiliate disclosure explains these relationships and how we select equipment. Third-party links, images and video players can change or become unavailable.

Disclaimers and availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that content or tool results are complete, accurate or error-free, or that access will be uninterrupted.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features and restrict access that violates these terms or threatens the Service. Please report errors through our contact page.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sport Scheduler Pro LLC and its affiliates, employees and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the Service, including lost profits, lost records or event disruptions.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed $50 or the amount you paid us for this Service in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Privacy, changes and applicable law

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date. Your continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the agreement governing your use of this Service.
