The sports listed for Los Angeles 2028 are published by the Olympic movement, and cornhole is not among them. That covers both the core program and the additional sports proposed by the host organizing committee for those Games.
Televised professional cornhole events exist and draw audiences, and that is a separate matter from Olympic status. Broadcast presence does not create eligibility.

What inclusion would require
Olympic inclusion runs through an international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee, which requires broad international governance, anti-doping compliance, and demonstrated participation across many countries. A sport then has to be added either to the core program or as an additional sport proposed by a specific host city.
Cornhole's organized competition is concentrated in the United States. Building the international structure that the process requires is a long-horizon undertaking, and nothing published indicates it is currently under way at that level.
Special Olympics is a different organization
Special Olympics is an independent organization serving athletes with intellectual disabilities. It is not the Olympic Games, and its sport program is decided separately.
Claims that a sport is in the Special Olympics are therefore not claims about Olympic status. The two are frequently conflated in articles about emerging sports.
Where competitive cornhole actually happens
The meaningful competitive structure is in league play. The American Cornhole League and the American Cornhole Organization each run their own events and publish their own rules.

It is not on the published Los Angeles 2028 program. Sport selection for those Games has already been decided, so it will not be added informally.
Is cornhole a recognized international sport?
